In case you haven’t been paying attention the year is already halfway gone. I’m not even sure why the accelerated passing of time surprises me anymore, but somehow it still does. So before your check out and enjoy your Fourth of July holiday this would be a great time to grade yourself on how the year has gone for you so far. Or as I like to say…

Give yourself a Check-up from the Neck-Up

Take some time this week to review the goals and objectives you created for the year and make an honest assessment of where you are. Remember this is not the time to beat yourself up over what you haven’t done, but rather celebrate all that you have done.

The things that you haven’t gotten to yet should be reviewed as well and ask yourself the following questions:

Am I still as committed to this goal as I was 6 months ago? If not-why not? If so -how so?

Is this goal still relevant in the context of what I wish to achieve this year?

If you decide that the goal is still worth your energy and effort than ask the following:

What has prevented me from moving forward with this objective? Is this self-created or is it something I have no control over?

If self-created than ask yourself: what steps will I take in coming weeks to move forward and begin the process of achieving it.

If you have no control over the outcome than here is some good advice- Quit beating yourself up and stressing about it. When the circumstances dictate action just be ready to execute your plan.

Finally, now is a good time to add some new goals and objectives that you plan to accomplish over the next 6 months.

That’s it, a Check up from the Neck Up.

Have a great 4th of July. Take some time to up-plug from the matrix and spend a few moments with people that create joy in your life.
